Department of Thoracic Surgery and Lung Transplantation
The department provides specialized care to patients of the thoracic surgical profile, to both: citizens of the Republic of Belarus and foreign citizens.
Here, for the first time in Belarus, bilateral lung transplantation was successfully performed.
The main activity is the implementation of high-tech surgical interventions on the lungs, requiring the use of transplantation technologies.
We have extensive experience in performing organ-preserving operations on lungs with resection and all types of reconstruction of the pulmonary vessels and bronchi.
For the first time in the CIS our specialists performed autotransplantation of a lobe of lung and the first sublobar autotransplantation of the lung in Europe.
The department has adopted the highest quality standard for mediastinal lymph node dissection.
The department strictly follows the algorithm for risk assessment and prevention of postoperative complications.
