The Pain Treatment Center is a unique direction in our multidisciplinary institution, where a team of specialists offers you an extensive list of techniques, taking into account the individual characteristics of the pain syndrome and modern international recommendations for relieving or reducing the intensity of various types of pain syndrome.
The most common types of pain syndrome treated in our center are:
Back pain
According to world experts, about 80% of the world's population have back pain during their lives. It can be aching, pulling, shooting, burning, irradiate into the legs, and also severely restrict mobility in the disturbing part of the back, up to the inability to get out of bed.
There are many reasons for back pain, most often it is overstretching of the muscles as a result of poor posture or the fact that you lifted something heavy, turned unsuccessfully, fell, etc. More serious causes: protrusion / hernia / rupture of the intervertebral disc, arthrosis of the intervertebral joints, osteochondrosis, arthrosis of the sacroiliac joint, spinal canal stenosis, vertebral compression fracture, osteoporosis, spondylolisthesis (displacement of the vertebra relative to the vertebra under it).
Radiculitis (radiculopathy) - compression of the nerve roots extending from the spinal cord. This is not a disease, but a symptom of another problem, as a result of which their compression or inflammation occurs (protrusion / herniation of the intervertebral disc, spinal stenosis). The most common type is sciatica - a lesion or pinching of the sciatic nerve, large enough, descending down the leg. However, in this case, compression can be not only at the level of the lumbar spine, but also as a result of spasm of the piriformis muscle (piriformis syndrome).
There are factors that increase the risk of developing back pain: smoking, overweight, age, monotonous physical labor, improper exercise technique, sedentary work.
The basis for the diagnosis of back pain is the patient's complaints and examination by a specialist, however, visualization in the form of an x-ray, MRI or CT scan of the problem area can be used. Also, therapeutic and diagnostic blockades are used: a specialist injects the drug into the area of the alleged source of pain, and if the intensity of the pain syndrome decreases, the cause is established.
For the treatment of back pain, the specialists of our center select a method or combination of methods that are good for you:
- drug therapy with modern and safe
- drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockade under ultrasound control (blockade of intervertebral joints, sacroiliac joint, trigger points, blockade of directly damaged nerve root)
- individual exercise therapy program
- physiotherapy methods
- psychotherapeutic support
Pain in the neck (cervicalgia) - pain from the shoulders to the back of the head, can be given to the arm or both arms. They are most often associated with professional activities when you need to keep your head in one position for a long time (professional drivers, working at a computer, manicurists, etc.). Other causes: osteochondrosis, arthrosis of the intervertebral joints, protrusion / hernia / rupture of the intervertebral disc, a certain type of injury (“whiplash injury”), stress.
For the treatment of pain in the neck, the specialists of our center will select a method or combination of methods that are right for you:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockade under ultrasound control (blockade of intervertebral joints, trigger points, blockade of a directly damaged nerve root)
- individual exercise therapy program
- physiotherapy methods
Pain during compression of peripheral nerves by surrounding tissues in the arms and legs. The most common:
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome канала
Compression of the median nerve, when you experience numbness, tingling, burning, "goosebumps" of the fingers, except for the little finger, night pain in the hand, weakness of the hands, shooting pain in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd fingers of the hand, over time, without treatment, the disease can progress.
- Elbow/cubital tunnel syndrome
Compression of the ulnar nerve, when you may experience numbness of 4, 5 fingers, more often in the morning hours, gradually developing weakness of the hand, also progresses over time without proper treatment.
- Fibular Tunnel Syndrome/Fibular Canal Syndrome
Compression of the peroneal nerve, when you may be disturbed by numbness and weakness of the foot, up to paresis of the foot, the foot does not rise, drags, “slaps” when walking.
- Morton's neuroma/Morton's metatarsalgia
Tingling, numbness in the toes, burning, shooting pains in the foot that radiate to the toes, pain to force to sit up and remove shoes.
To relieve pain and restore muscle strength in case of tunnel syndromes, the specialists of our center will select a method or combination of methods that is right for you:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockade under ultrasound control (blockade of the directly damaged nerve)
- individual exercise therapy program
- physiotherapy methods
The specialists of our center, depending on the degree of damage, will choose an individual plan for relieving pain in diabetic polyneuropathy, which may include:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockades under ultrasound control
- individual exercise therapy program
- physiotherapy methods
Peripheral neuropathy is a term that describes the development of symptoms as a result of damage to peripheral nerves, which are all nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. The nerve fibers are damaged, and as a result, they conduct the nerve impulse worse. You may experience "pins and needles" or "electric shock" symptoms, you may experience numbness, coldness, tingling, stinging or burning, pain when lightly touched in your toes, feet, fingers, palms, and over time can go even higher. Muscle weakness, cramps, and twitching may occur. Loss of balance and coordination (control of limb movement), which can make walking, driving, or handling small objects (such as shirt buttons) very difficult. ENMG (electroneuromyography) can be used for diagnosis.
The most common types of peripheral neuropathies/polyneuropathies are:
- Diabetic polyneuropathy
- Postherpetic neuralgia/neuropathy after herpes zoster
- After chemotherapy
- After radiotherapy
- When taking certain types of medications
- Alcohol overuse
The specialists of our center will help to cope with the pain syndrome against the background of any type of neuropathy, choosing an individual treatment plan in the form of:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockades under ultrasound control (blockade of the directly damaged nerve)
- individual program of physiotherapy exercises
- physiotherapy methods
- psychotherapeutic support
A complex regional pain syndrome is a chronic, often burning or throbbing pain due to damage to soft tissues or bone (type I) or due to nerve damage (type II), which does not correspond to the nature of the initial tissue damage (fracture, surgery, incised wound, bullet wound, trauma). after the accident). Other eefcts in the affected area include increased sweating, increased sensitivity to cold and touch, changes in skin color and temperature, swelling, muscle weakness, changes in hair and nail growth, joint stiffness. The diagnosis is made on the basis of clinical data.
The specialists of our center will help you to cope with the intensity of pain from CRPS, choosing an individual treatment plan in the form of:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockades under ultrasound control (sympathetic blockades)
- individual program of physiotherapy exercises
- physiotherapy methods
- psychotherapeutic support
Joint pain can be the result of many reasons, it can be infectious, autoimmune, as a result of trauma, etc. If the pain is acute, you should first consult a general practitioner. However, when the pains are chronic, they bother you for a long time, especially in large joints, such as the knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, then the reason, as a rule, is arthrosis of this joint. You can know the names of lesions of individual joints, such as gonarthrosis - a lesion of the knee joint, coxarthrosis - a lesion of the hip joint. Arthrosis is a chronic degenerative change in the cartilage tissue of the joint. In older patients, it develops as a result of wear of the articular surfaces. In young patients, most often as a result of active sports. In pain in the shoulder joint, one of the causes can be distinguished impingement syndrome (infringement of the tendons of the rotator cuff), when it is impossible to raise the arm and put it behind the back. Bursitis (accumulation of a large amount of fluid in the joint cavity) also leads to severe pain.
The specialists of our center will help with the diagnosis, the choice of further tactics of action and will help to remove or reduce the intensity of pain in the joints by choosing an individual treatment plan in the form of:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockades under ultrasound control (blockade of nerves that conduct pain from the joints, blockade of trigger points)
- individual program of physiotherapy exercises
- physiotherapy methods
- psychotherapeutic support
Facial pain is a concept that combines all types of pain in the face.
trigeminal neuralgia:
-
Невралгия тройничного нерва
Intense unilateral paroxysmal acute, sharp, shooting pain in the forehead, cheekbones and / or lower jaw, provoked by hypothermia, speech, eating, brushing teeth, applying makeup
-
Arthrosis of the temporomandibular joint
Stiffness when chewing, pain in the joint area radiating to the face, head and neck, difficulty in opening and closing the mouth, clicks / pops / grinding when moving the lower jaw
-
Glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
Paroxysmal sharp shooting pain in the root of the tongue, tonsil, palatine arch
-
Neuralgia of the superior laryngeal ner
attacks of unilateral paroxysmal pain in the larynx, accompanied by a strong cough, pre-syncope
-
Myofascial pain syndrome
Overloading of a particular muscle, as a result of dysfunction and pain syndrome
The specialists of our center will help with the diagnosis, the choice of further tactics of action and help relieve or reduce facial pain by choosing an individual treatment plan in the form of:

Headache is one of the most common conditions among the adult population of the planet, for example, up to 75% of people experienced a headache in 2019. There are over 300 types of headaches, and they fall into two main categories:
primary headache
- Tension headache
- Migraine
- cluster headache
- New daily (initially) persistent headache
- and about 16 more diagnoses
Secondary headache is a consequence of another disease, for example: cervicogenic headache (from the neck), trauma, tumor, infection, hypertension, etc. There are a lot of options, but they occur in about 10% of cases..
For the diagnosis of headache, first of all, at the appointment of a specialist, “red flags” are excluded - this is a complex of symptoms, signs of a secondary headache. In such cases, additional examination in the form of MRI or ultrasound of the cerebral vessels is required. If there are no such "red flags", then we are dealing with a primary headache.
The diagnosis of primary headache is made solely on the basis of a questionnaire and certain criteria that exist for each type of headache. It will be extremely useful to keep a headache diary to systematize your complaints, the drugs used and the selection of therapy and, if necessary, the prevention of headaches.
Migraine is the second most common headache followed by tension headache. It is usually characterized by a throbbing or pounding headache that lasts from 4 hours to 3 days, is accompanied by nausea or vomiting, sensitivity to light, sounds or smells, sometimes accompanied by prodrome.
The main goals for the treatment of migraine: rapid relief of symptoms - individual selection of therapy, prevention - selection of drugs to reduce the number of attacks.
There is also such a pathology as occipital nerve neuropathy.
Symptoms are characterized by paroxysmal, one-sided, shooting, throbbing pains that extend from the back of the head to the forehead, sometimes reaching the forearms and shoulder blades. Often there is sensation disorders in the problem area in the form of numbness or tingling when scratching.
The specialists of our center will help with the diagnosis, the choice of further tactics of action and will help remove or reduce the intensity of the headache, depending on its type:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockades under ultrasound control (occipital nerve blockade, blockade of trigger points)
- individual program of physiotherapy exercises
- physiotherapy methods
- psychotherapeutic support
- selection of an individual method of prevention
Fibromyalgia is a disease that is characterized by diffuse symmetrical musculoskeletal chronic pain (at least 3 months). Accompanied by morning stiffness that improves throughout the day, feeling tired (appears after waking up and may increase throughout the day), sleep does not bring a feeling of rest, impaired concentration, difficulty finding words, abdominal pain associated with irritable bowel syndrome, frequent urination , numbness and tingling in various parts of the body.
There are certain criteria for the diagnosis of fibromyalgia, and additional examinations are required to determine other causes of pain.
The specialists of our center will help with the diagnosis, the choice of further tactics of action and will help to remove or reduce the intensity of the pain syndrome in the form of:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockades under ultrasound control (for example, blockade of trigger points)
- individual program of physiotherapy exercises
- physiotherapy methods
- psychotherapeutic support
Chronic pelvic pain syndrome is a long-term (over 6 months) difficult to relieve pelvic pain, when no pathology is detected or the severity of the pain does not correspond to the severity of the proven changes.
Impaired blood microcirculation and increased excitability of the nervous system causes the development of chronic pelvic pain syndrome. In conditions of lack of oxygen and nutrients, nerve endings transmit impulses that are perceived by the brain as pain.
If experiencing pelvic pain, first of all, we recommend a consultation with a gynecologist or urologist in order to make sure that you have completed all examinations to identify the organic pathology that causes pain in the pelvic area. If during the examinations, pathologies are not found, then CPPS and the selection of therapy to alleviate the pain syndrome may be discussed.
The specialists of our center will help with the choice of further treatment tactics and help to remove or reduce the intensity of the pain syndrome in the form of:
- drug therapy using modern and safe drugs with proven effectiveness
- therapeutic blockades under ultrasound control (blockade of the pudendal nerve, blockade of the ilioinguinal nerve, genitofemoral nerve, caudal epidural blockade)
- individual program of physiotherapy exercises
- physiotherapy methods
- psychotherapeutic support
